Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 236
Tonikaku Kawaii Fly Me to the Moon 236
トニカクカワイイ 236
Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:
Nasa attempts to think of a place to take Tsukasa for their date. However, everything he thinks of is something they’ve already done as a couple. He decides to ask his wife, but she raises the bar by thinking he wants to keep the location secret. Nasa realizes Tsukasa is really looking forward to whatever they do on the date the following day. As such, Nasa decides to take a bath at the bathhouse to ponder things more.
When he is done, he discovers three of his female students in the lobby. Kaguya, Hakase, and Hotaru agree to help him figure out a place to take Tsukasa in exchange for some fruit milk. Hotaru suggests going to Shinjuku to pay a visit to a strawberry dessert shop. Hakase suggests visiting the Gundam in Odaiba. Afterward, they’d attend a show by Cirque Du Soleil Alegría.
When prompted, Kaguya says she’d be super excited to visit Tokyo Tower since it is big. Hakase wonders why Tokyo Tower when Skytree is larger. Kaguya states that Skytree isn’t red, like Tokyo Tower. After the girls leave, Nasa decides on Tokyo Tower for the date.
Elsewhere, Himari suggested to Asimo that they go to Tokyo Tower on the morrow. Her reasoning is that seeing something big and red will get them hyped for studying for the entrance exams.
Thoughts/Review:
Welp, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 236 is putting on that inevitable path where Asimo recognizes Nasa and Himari realizes whom Nasa is. Yeah, Hata-sensei could pull another “PSYCHE!” moment, but I don’t think so. And I’m just not jazzed about this. I’m not a fan of love-triangles or love-squares, or love whatevers. That said, I’m perfectly fine with Asimo acting like a man and confessing to Himari. I’m just not interested in having Nasa as part of that equation.
That aside, it has been a while since we’ve seen Nasa’s students. Very plot convenient that three of them were at the bathhouse for Nasa to quiz. But I’ll let that slide. Kaguya’s suggestion of Tokyo Tower surprised me. Her reasoning behind it made me smile. One would have thought that Kaguya has been up Tokyo Tower before. This chapter didn’t say one way or the other, but I got the sense that maybe she hasn’t been.
Which reminds me, since Nasa didn’t say where he was taking Tsukasa on their date, what will be her reaction to Tokyo Tower? With as much as Tsukasa has been part of human history over the past 1400 years, one would think that she might have been involved at some level in Tokyo Tower’s construction. But then, Tsukasa may have been in America when the Tower was built. I can’t remember when she moved there with Tokiko. So maybe Tsukasa hasn’t seen it. We’ll see how it goes.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 236 is a fun chapter despite taking things to a destination I’m not all that keen on.
